Fuel Switching Project in the Brazilian Caatinga biome, Ceará (Assunção Ceramic)

Description: The Assunção ceramic facility is located in Aquiraz, a town in Ceará state, northeast Brazil. To be more sustainable, Assunção ceramic facility ceased the use of Caatinga wood and now feeds its kilns with renewable biomass, such as wood from sustainable management areas, cashew nuts, coconut and residues from cashew trees. This activity contributes to a carbon neutral cycle and also decreased the environmental impact of its industrial process.
