Fuel Switching Project in the Brazilian Cerrado biome, São Paulo (Nascente Ceramic)

Description: Nascente ceramic is a small facility that produces structural ceramic products such as bricks, for the local market of Panorama, in the state of São Paulo. The ceramic is located within the Cerrado biome that previously consumed wood to feed its kilns. The ceramic was one of the pioneers switching to renewable biomass, such as sugar cane bagasse, sawdust and peanut shells. The ceramic will generate thermal energy using the biomass while promoting the conservation of the Cerrado biome, as well as reducing their emission of greenhouse gases.
