Fuel Switching Project in the Brazilian Cerrado biome, São Paulo state (Lucevans Ceramic)

Description: Lucevans ceramic is a small business that produces ceramic products such as bricks, for the local market in the Panorama municipality, in São Paulo state. Understanding their impact in the Cerrado biome, Lucevans wanted to be more productive, efficient and sustainable in their production processes. The ceramic was one of the pioneers in ceasing the use of wood from the Cerrado region and has now switched to renewable biomass such as sugar cane bagasse, sawdust, small wood residues and peanut shells. The ceramic will generate thermal energy from the biomass while promoting the conservation of the Cerrado biome.
