Fuel Switching Project in the Brazilian Cerrado biome, São Paulo state (Panorama Ceramic)
Description: Panorama ceramic facility is a small business that produces structural ceramic products, one of the most important building sectors in Brazil.
Panorama was one of the pioneers in the ceramic industry to cease the use wood from Cerrado as fuel and replaced it with renewable biomass, such as sawdust, wood chips and sugarcane bagasse. This switch contributed to the limiting of the impact of deforestation in Cerrado, but also contributed to the decrease of greenhouse gas emissions.
