Greensburg Wind Farm
Description: In May 2007 a tornado leveled the town, destroying 95% of the homes and leaving a path of devastation 2 miles wide. In the aftermath, the residents committed rebuilding as “the greenest town in America.” The Greensburg Wind Farm involves the building of 10 new wind turbines, 1.25 MW each, for a total of 12.5 MW in wind energy in Greensburg, Kansas.
