Improved Household Charcoal Stoves in Mali

Description: The project involves the installation of efficient charcoal stoves in one of the world's most rural regions. These stoves have a ceramic lining and use up to 50% less charcoal and wood compared to traditional stoves used in most Mali households. The emission reductions result from the improvement in fuel efficiency and the reduction of consumption of nonrenewable biomass. The revenues from the GS VERs are used to subsidise the price of the efficient stoveswhich make them affordable for Mali households.
