Mamak Landfill Waste Management Project

Description: Mamak Landfill Gas recovery project is located in the city of Ankara, Turkey. The project intends to extract methane from a landfill and use it for electricity generation. The landfill gas has a capacity of 16.8 MW and the project is expected to generate 140,000 MWh per year into the Turkish grid. The project also uses the greenhouse gases in a tomato greenhouse in the landfill and people are employed there too for producing fresh tomatos with the exhaust gases of the system.
