NHR Co-Composting

Description: PT Nikmat Halona Reksa is a palm oil plantation and mill company, which manage plantation and operate palm oil mill. The company was interested in establishing composting plant close to the palm oil mill for 2 reasons, first, the need of fertilizer in the plantation, and second, the need to manage the waste from the palm oil mill. This project will reduce the methane emissions from anaerobic digestion of POME treatment by applying POME onto windrows of EFB as part of an aerobic co-composting technique. The project will also avoid methane emissions from the solid waste.
