Soil&More Libra/Sekem Composting
Description: Soil & More International has developed standards and techniques to produce high quality compost suitable for organic and conventional farming.
The organic waste used consists of wood, straws, coffee residues, green fresh material and manure. The composting process is aerobic due to mechanical aeration as well as strict control of key parameters – oxygen levels of the compost mounds, temperature and humidity – to ensure that the process proceeds optimally.
The compost product is ready in 6 to 10 weeks.
This compost production replaces dumping of organic waste at municipal waste dumping facilities and other places where the waste would decompose anaerobically, leading to methane emissions into the atmosphere.
