Ugar Sugar Biomass

Description: The project activity involves installation of a new cogeneration unit of 16 MW capacity, next to the existing one of 28 MW (which has been upgraded from 18 MW). The project activity deploys the bagasse dryer of 40 tonnes per hour which utilises waste heat of flue gases(180-190 C ). Also, the project is amongst the first to deploy high pressure boilers and turbine in the sector. The bagasse has become available as USWL expanded its sugar crushing capacity 7500TCD to 10000TCD in the year 2002-2003. This increased the bagasse production or availability in the plant from 95.2 to 127.4 TPH.
