Zhangbei Mijiagou 49.5 MW Windfarm Project

Description: This project will reduce greenhouse gas emissions in China compared to a business-as-usual scenario and generate electricity - expected annual electricity supplied to North China power grid is 105,800 MWh It will help to stimulate the growth of the wind power industry in China as well as create local employment opportunities during the assembly and installation of wind turbines, and for operation of the wind farm. In order to achieve Gold Standard certification, the project was required to demonstrate clear benefits on sustainable development, including environmental and social sustainability, and economic and technological development, as well as more in-depth local consultation than is normally required by the UN.
